Description

• Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the machine translation system;
  • Development and integration of new components;
  • Adaptation and refactoring of existing modules;
  • Assisting in testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, and evaluation;
  • Quality assurance of new modules/developments;
  • Participating in technical working groups and progress meetings;
  • Analysis of production issues and elaboration of specific solutions (bug fixing);
  • Technical analysis of change requests;
  • Documentation. 

Qualifications

• Successful studies in an IT area to bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education;
  • Minimum 10 years of practical experience as an IT professional;
  • Expert knowledge of C++ level 11 or higher programming on Unix/Linux environments;
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle SQL or MariaDB), bash scripting, Python;

Experience with any or all of the following would be an asset:

o Python, node.js, C#, SOAP, Ruby, JavaScript, XML;
o Apache, MS Azure, Ansible, RPM, Jenkins;
• Knowledge of the Commission’s IT environment would be an asset;
• Ability to work in a structured way and to communicate with users, other developers and support staff.

The candidate will work in close collaboration with other developers and should therefore have a proven record of accomplishment of working successfully in a multi-lingual/multi-cultural team.
The candidate will have to coordinate work with other team members and proactively share their technical knowledge, thus contributing to an efficient and effective manner of working.
