Description

Maintain the baseline network and ICT communications architecture, including network      architecture and specification deliverables and artefacts;
Maintain the architecture of the common network, telephony and ICT infrastructure services, including the VoIP network, LANs and WAN connectivity services, network management and operational tools, connectivity to physical and virtualized client and server infrastructure;
Produce specifications for network infrastructure components, providing guidance and review for their implementation and configuration, with as much detail as needed;
Support assessment and reviews of the network infrastructure components in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans of the organisation;
Support the evaluation and selection of the technical products that are required to implement the network infrastructure architecture;
Write and maintain network and ICT infrastructure technical standards for the organisation;
Assess business cases, project proposals and project deliverables to determine the impact on and compliance with the network and infrastructure, including sizing and capacity planning considerations;
Liaise with security and compliance organizations internal and external to ICT, gathering requirements, managing the relationship and expectations for work and bringing into ICT specific demand to be addressed in solutions or procedures;
Develop or maintain operating procedures for network infrastructure components for the usage of ICT Operations teams and ensuring successful handover to them.
 
 
Qualifications
 
Working knowledge of English (B2)
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Network Architecture / Engineering roles
Professional experience on at least 3 larger projects (custom development or COTS-based) with responsibility for network architecture definition and/or network design/engineering delivery
 
Mandatory:
 
In-depth expertise in data network and VoIP architectures, protocols and standards, and commercial products, covering LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN and public networks
Knowledge of design and implementation of the processes, procedures and operational management associated with high levels of network availability and risk management.
Knowledge of methods and techniques for analyzing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance.
Knowledge and competence in configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and VRRP in a dual-stack IPv4/6 environment
 
Desirable:
 
Professional knowledge of infrastructure level security controls, including firewall, content inspection tools, LAN and wireless network security controls as well as perimeter security controls, etc
Network certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP or equivalent
Significant experience in the application of general ICT Operations frameworks based on ITIL.
Professional knowledge of network design and configuration for WAN deployments.
Professional knowledge of video conferencing solutions, related to setup and configuration.
